Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
Unfortunately, I found out today that the workaround I had found had caused a fatal error. In our office we use a time tracking and order management software that stores the data in a SQL database. This software runs on the server and all clients fill the database located there. Due to the change to...

Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
I double click on the file because I have bin-files associated with Cloudcompare. In older versions of CC this worked without problems. The problem started with the last version of CC. So something must have changed, right? But now that I found a solution with manual activation of UTF8 encoding, the...

Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
Hey Daniel, I honestly didn't expect it to work for you. But I have found the error in the meantime. Windows 11 does not seem to have UTF8 encoding enabled by default. But this can be activated manually and after that everything works fine. https://www.danielgm.net/cc/forum/download/file.php?mode=vi...

Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
I've attached a ZIP file with two BIN-files containing umlauts.
Their names are:
Änderung_Test.bin
Testübersicht.bin
If you rename them, there is no problem. For me, it is not a workaraound, because our paths on the server contain umlauts.

Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
So you were able to reproduce the issue now?

Re: Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
Hey Daniel, Ah, sadly I can't reproduce this issue on my side I tried it again at home with an older version of CC https://www.danielgm.net/cc/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=2259&sid=f29c1fd2b9eaade5eb0ef1e7fd0e86fb and there was no issue ! Then i installed the most current version htt...

Cannot open Projects when path contains umlauts.
Cloudcompare seems to have problems opening projects if their path contains umlauts like "ä", "ö" or "ü" (German language).

Re: Coordinate format / VisualSFM
1) Before taking the pictures, i placed and measured four reference points on the object. The coordinates of the measured point are in the Gauss-Krueger format (Potsdam-Datum, Bessel-Ellipsoid) that is usal in Germany. They look like this: Y[m] X[m] Z[m] 3349117.189 5543271.667 347.552 If I try to d...
