Re: Global shift- problem with original coordinates
It seems that Cloud Compare inverts the signs of xyz coordinates or even rotation angle, including in the latest released version 2.5.5.2 For example if my original xyz UTM coordinates are : 633 170,05 5 388 211,63 107,38 In Menu Edit -> Global shift and scale, just type them with a minus in front, ...

Re: Save point cloud as ASCII after applying translation mat
Actually, the color scale worked only once when I desactivated "Enable shader for faster display" in the Menu Display -> Display settings -> Color Scale (scalar field) for the first time, but it never worked again afterwards in the 2.5.5 beta version ... I don't know if this information ca...

Re: Clip point cloud with extent of other point cloud
Yes ! It works using the Cross section tool. To be more precise : 1) Click on the advanced tab 2) In the Edit clipping box, type in the xyz coordinates of the center (this is also very important) AND the bounding box of my reference point cloud B 3) Click on the Slices button -> Export selection as ...

Clip point cloud with extent of other point cloud
Hello,
Is there a way to clip a point cloud A with the extent of another point cloud B ?
I tried to do this via Menu Tools -> Distances -> Cloud/Cloud dist. but I'm not sure I have this right...

Re: Global shift- problem with original coordinates
Hello, I encountered the same problem using Edit -> Global Shift. It seems that Cloud Compare inverts the sign of original coordinates with positive sign. The solution I use is to invert the sign of the xyz coordinates, just put a minus in front, when you enter them in Global Shift. Then you can sav...

Re: Save point cloud as ASCII after applying translation mat
Sorry ! I just found out about your answer on the 7th of July. I was checking for an answer but I did not see it because it was on the second page and I thought you had to scroll down on only 1 single page... Yes ! The color scale works when I desactivate "Enable shader for faster display"...

Re: Save point cloud as ASCII after applying translation mat
1) Do you confirm this small bug of no color display in Properties / Color Ramp in this beta version 2.5.5 (although great changes in Translation / Rotation process) ?
2) When will this beta version 2.5.5 it be "officially" released for download on your Website ?

Re: Save point cloud as ASCII after applying translation mat
I mean in Properties / Color Scale / Current / Blue > Green > Yellow > Red as an example
I think the other color ramps do not work either in this beta version. It was useful to distinguish 2 different point clouds during co-registration.

Re: Save point cloud as ASCII after applying translation mat
GOOD NEWS :-)))! It works in this latest beta version... that is to say, applying xy translation matrix via "Edit / Apply Transformation", then save as ASCII, then reload the file in CC or other TLS processing software, and the xy translation is being taken into account. The only thing, no...
