CloudCompare can no longer launch

So I've been succesfully using CC for a couple of months now (since February this year). Since reinstalling it today it can no longer launch, no cc window is opened at all. When I open the Windows Log it points to the Qt5Gui.dll module as the culprit. I've found a similar error on this forum, however the recommended solution is a bit outdated now. I was still using CC succesfully this morning, before reinstalling it. Does anyone know how to fix this? Running CC through Python (using command line mode) does however still work.

Have you installed a new graphic card driver maybe? Or a new anti-virus?

I have not, in the meantime I'm running CC 2.9.1 through command line mode and viewing the results in CC 2.6.0.
