Change R,G,B,Scalar column after ASCII import?

Post by ajccad »

When I import and ASCII scan file I can asign each columns data type, normally I have to switch Column 4 to scalar, and 5,6 & 7 to R,G,B.

Can these columns be changed after import? Say I want to swap Red and Blue around for example?

Sadly no... But you can do it 'manually' by exporting the colors to 3 scalar fields (with Edit > Colors > Convert to SF), and then use the new 'Edit > Colors > From Scalar field' (in the 2.11 version) to re-create the RGB field but with another order.

Sorry, it seems I didn't set up email notifications so didn't think I had a response to this. Thanks, I will have a go at the method you posted.
