Can't open DXF/OBJ/STL files

Hi

We've developed scanning hardware to compare a machined shape with a CAD section. The scan provides a 2D 'slice' through our product.

We'd like to compare this with a matching slice (all data points in one plane) through the CAD model. We have exported this from our CAD package and can see it in other software viewers (e.g. solidworks edrawings viewer) but can't open in CC.

For our DXF format we get the error - "An error occurred while loan 'test_section': Nothing to load"
OBJ and STL formats have a similar error except it reads 'Malformed file'

We have no problem importing and viewing our cloud data in CC. Unfortunately I wasn't able to upload the DXF file

I feel I'm doing something simple and obvious wrong but haven't uncovered it through the Wiki or videos.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help.

That's odd indeed. Especially for the OBJ and STL formats (the DXF format support is currently very limited). Can you send me sample files? (cloudcompare [at] danielgm.net)

Ok the DXF filter has been updated so as to read DXF files with incomplete polylines descriptor.

(and for the records: the issue with OBJ and STL files came... from the files).
