Registration and Plane Fitting RMS residuals values?

This question has probably been asked but I couldn't find it with a basic search.

Is there a way of extracting the residuals from the plane fitting and fine registration RMS values? I'm hoping to plot these to show the distribution of the residuals.

Yes, once the plane is fitted, select both the plane and the source cloud and compute the distances between them (Tools > Distances > Cloud/Mesh dist).

CC will compute the distances between all points and the plane. Then select only the cloud and save it as an ASCII file. This file will contain X Y Z and the distance of each point per line. It can easily be read by another program such as Matlab or Excel.
