Hi there, i have a few questions about how do compare clouds, first of all I advice that I'm new on this, in my university I have this class, structural geology, so, mi teacher give a proyect to us, the proyect consist in compare 2 coulds of points, this points was made by Lidar, a machine for measurement etc etc. The point is I have to compare this clouds, but my teacher sucks and don't teachme anything about the software, but I have been clicking in the software, at this point I know how to open .txt data, and put color on the clouds, my teacher told me about something 2.5D? that is the question, what means that and how I can do a good comparation between the cloud, ah! and how can I measure the distance between points that not coincide, sorry for my english I do my best.
thank you in advance

Re: Problem whit comparing
Maybe you could look at the documentation first ;)
Here is the long version:
http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/qCC/Clo ... manual.pdf
And here is the short version (the wiki part on "Distances computation"):
http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... omputation
And regarding "2.5D" you have: And to measure distances between non overlapping cloud, you may have to segment them first (with the "scissors" tool). Or just remove the points with big distances afterwards...
