cloud/mesh dist

Hi
I am new to cloudcompare. I want to compute the height difference between laser mesh (TIN) and reference points in xyz in .txt. but when i trie dto use dist - cloud/mesh, the tool is inactive in my machine. can anyone let me know why and how can I activate these tools.

To activate the tool you have to select both the mesh and the cloud (use the CTRL button). And be sure to select the entities and not their container (when you load a file, the top entity is generally simply a container with the file name, and the real entities are below it in the DB tree).
