Can you explain how to interpret the values of the Scalar gradient ramp? What units are these in? See screen shot attachment

The gradient should be expressed in 'units of the original scalar field' divided by 'units of the point coordinates'.

And only the user knows about these units as this information is almost never stored in point cloud files ;).
