How can I check accuracy/precision of point cloud in CloudCompare? Do I need help from GCPs?

Yes probably. Or another trusted dataset (with a higher / qualified accuracy).

Well, it depends on your reference, but it will be one of the various ways to compute distances then (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... omputation) or to register the GCPs (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... oint_pairs)
