Converting .e57 format to .ply?

Hello, im trying to convert a .e57 file to .ply using the cmd line but it only create me a .bin file. It is working for everyother type of format but the .e57 to .ply doesnt work.

Im using the -c_export_fmt ply , and the -ply_export_fmt binary_le

i want to precise that .las to .ply work fine, .ply to .e57 too. Any idea why?
