Set classification display colour?

Post by geoidal »

Is there a way to set the colours of classification codes?

Not that I am _not_ talking about the RGB colour of the points - rather, I'm talking about the display colour of the points within CloudCompare.

I would like to (a) load in a set of default classification colours for the defined ASPRS classification codes, and (b) set new classification colours for project-specific classification codes.

For example, I would like the following colours to be used. These are the standard classification colours that I've seen elsewhere in point cloud viewing software:
Ground = Brown
LowVeg = Light Green
MedVeg = Med Green
HighVeg = Dark Green
Water = Blue

etc.

Thanks!

Well, you can define your own 'custom' color scales (see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... es_Manager).

You'll have to use the 'absolute' mode, where you can associated a specific value to a specific color. And to have a range of values that correspond to the same color, you'll have to cheat a little bit, by defining steps at 1.0 and 1.999 with the same color, and then 2.0 and 2.999 with another color, etc.
