CC quits unexpectedly during point picking, MAC

Post by dan_uhl_midi »

Macbook Pro M1, 64 GB Ram
Cloud Compare Version 2.13 alpha

Using point-picking alignment tool, with 2 large-ish clouds (95 million points and 130 million points respectively), once clouds are aligned via the point picking feature, and I click ok to register the changes, CC quits unexpectedly. Tried 3x, happened each time.

Of course I could cut out unneeded parts of one or both of the clouds to reduce load on CC and then apply transformation after, but its seems that there is some bug happening. Never had this happen before, but then again, I don't usually work with such big clouds.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Daniel

So the macOS version is quite unstable sadly...

Can you try with the macOS version included in the CloudCompy package? (you can download it from here: https://www.simulation.openfields.fr/in ... d-binaries)

You can ignore the Conda/Python stuff, and use CloudCompare.app which is in the Cloudcompare folder of this package.
