Optimize RMS of Quadric Fit

Hello,

I have a point cloud in form of a wavy line and want to fit it with Fit -> 2.5D Quadric. The result unfortunately very high (RMS = almsot 4).
Is there a way to optimize it without changing the point cloud?

Well, sadly not. And this tool is meant to be used on a 'surface' (cloud), not a linear one. That may be the cause of the issue?
