Detaching the 3D View Window

Post by Guitar Quackery »

Hello all,

I'm new here. Just discovered CloudCompare. Looks like a fantastic software.

I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos already.

Question.

Is it possible to detach the 3D View window (in the same way that the DB Tree and Properties can be detached) so that I can place the 3D View into a dedicated monitor?

The goal is to be able to do live streaming, using the ATEM mini switcher, showing only the 3D View window, without showing all the tools, etc.

Thanks.

Hum, since they are embedded inside a "MDI area", I don't think you can move the 3D views around.

However, you can show them 'full screen' to hide everything else (F11).

Thank you.

For some reason F11 doesn't work on my Mac (it shows the desktop, instead) but if I do control+command+F I do get to full screen.

Is this the same full screen view as if I were to do it through F11?

Also, in Full Screen I still see all the tools around the 3D view. I'm assuming there's no other way, right?

Thanks.

And have you tried the second option in the 'Display' menu? (Display > Full screen (3D view))

You should only see the 3D view. But maybe it doesn't work on macOS.

Thank you for this reply.

This option is greyed out, so perhaps you are right about it not being available in Mac OS.

Thanks.
