Hey Daniel,
I just wanted to ask, if it would be possible to implement a function for the tempory reduction of points in the viewport for static scenes.
Basically the same as you have done already when rotating the pointcloud, just additionally for static display. A percentage-slider or something similiar would be awesome!

You can partly achieve the same result by using the 'octree' displaying properties.

First you'll have to compute the octree on your point cloud (Edit > Octree > Compute). Then hide the cloud (with the 'visible' checkbox in the cloud properties). Eventually select the octree entity in the DB tree and change its Display mode' to 'Points' 'and its 'Display level' to a relatively high value:
