Dentistry

Post by stevenreedcurtis »

I am a prosthodontist. We need to be able to compare objects about 45 millimeters long down to about 10 microns. Our scanners support this level of accuracy. Can cloud compare compare our stl files?

Ah yes, normally it should. Ideally the coordinates/units should be in millimeters or microns?

Is cloud compare able to work on formats other than stl files?

1. I'm attempting to load similar STL files for comparison.
2. I can open the by dragging and copying. The program will not read the files off my desk top
3. When I drag and paste the second, the program automatically compares the two files. From my use of geomagic, I know better alignment of the files is possible.

How can I separate the files to try a better alignment using the three point method?

I don't really understand, sorry... CloudCompare doesn't do 'automatic' comparison.
