After running M3C2

Post by ilovecoffee1125 »

After running the M3C2 algorithm I would like to adjust the colors on my scan to show change between positive and negative distances. I see that you can adjust the display ranges under the properties tab. It gives a mx/min value for what I am assuming is distance. But does that actually tell you anything about the data being ran?

You can also tell CC that the colors scale should be 'symmetrical' (with the second tab named 'Parameters'). It helps when displaying such scalar fields. However I believe it's already enabled on the SF output by M3C2 (at least with recent versions).

And if you want full control on what is displayed, you should create your own 'absolute' color scale: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... es_Manager

And of course you can display the full histogram and export it as CSV with http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... _histogram.

Last but not least you can export the output cloud as an ASCII file and import it in Matlab, Excel, etc.
